AUDITIONS

Novus Contemporary Ballet is seeking versatile, collaborative, and expressive dancers for our 2025–2026 season. This season includes live performances in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and New York City, featuring new work by artistic director Meredith Ventura and other guest artists, in collaboration with our sister company, Selah Dance Collective, and artistic partners including NoMad Tango.

Now Accepting Video Auditions

Deadline: July 1, 2025 at 11:59 PM (PDT)

We are accepting video submissions only for our 2025–26 season. In-person callbacks will be scheduled as needed in late summer.

    • Dancers age 18+

    • Strong technique in contemporary ballet, classical ballet, and/or lyrical hip hop fusion

    • Comfort with improvisation and partnering

    • Interest in collaborative, interdisciplinary work

    • Availability for rehearsals in Los Angeles or Santa Barbara

    • Commitment to performance dates from September 2025 to April 2026

    Include the following:
    ✔️ Full name and pronouns
    ✔️ Resume (PDF format)
    ✔️ Headshot or dance photo
    ✔️ A link to your audition video (YouTube, Vimeo, or Dropbox link preferred)

    • Brief introduction (name, pronouns, location, and why you’re interested in Novus)

    • 1–2 minutes of contemporary or classical ballet phrasework

    • 30–60 seconds of improvisation

    • Optional: duet/partnering or repertory footage

    • Stipend-based performance contracts

    • Monthly stipend for physical therapy and pointe shoes

    • Additional paid opportunities for creatives with additional skills (media, tech, administration, etc.)
